WELCOME We are excited to have 8 students joining our class for the remainder of the year. I’m sure there will be some adjustments in the next week for everyone, please be patient as we all learn new procedures and rules. Parents if you have questions please feel free to email me or come visit, I would be happy to help in any way I can. VALENTINE’S DAY Our Valentine’s Day party will be on Thursday from 10:20-11:20, if you are helping with the party you may come at 10:00 to set up while the students are at recess. If you would like to help but have not signed up because your child was in Ms. Barlow’s class let me know and I will ask if anymore help is needed. I’m sure any extra help would be appreciated. There are now 26 students in our class. If your child would like to bring cards for others remember to write who they are from and not who you are giving the card to. This makes it easier when passing out cards. Also, there may be peanut allergies in the class so do not bring anything with peanuts. BOX TOPS We are collecting Box Tops throughout the year. Send them in with your child anytime you have them. INSECT REPORT Your child will be coming home with information on an insect report Monday. There is detailed information about what is expected but if you have any questions please let me know. The most important thing is that the student is doing the work themselves. If they choose to type their information this is a good opportunity for them to practice their typing skills. Guide them, help them with spelling and organization but do not do it for them.
BOOK REPORTS The mystery book report is due by Wednesday; please get it in on time. If you have any questions let me know soon. VALENTINE’S DAY Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching. For those wanting to get a head start on cards we have 18 students in our class. Please only address who the card is from and not who it is to. This makes it much easier when handing out cards. Also make sure your student brings enough for all students in the class and not just a few. If you choose you may also include a store bought treat with the card. Also, if choose not to bring cards that is okay as well. We will be making bags in class to put the cards into. I will provide all materials for them. I have the follow parents signed up to help for the party on the 14th from 10:30-11:30. If you cannot make it please let me know as soon as you can. If you have any questions or cannot find the assignment please send me a message. SPELLING As we go through the year the spelling words will be getting more difficult. Please take the time to help your child study for the test. Giving them practice spelling test is a great way to see what words they need to practice. Have them sound the words out as they spell the word. I see mistakes from students not sounding the correct sounds for the word.
